Prof. Avv. Gianluca Guerrieri
I am currently full professor of business law at the Department of Law of the University of Bologna.
I have been enrolled in the register of lawyers of Bologna since 1998, when I began working with Prof. Alberto Maffei Alberti. In his firm, I became an associate in 2007, and partner in 2012.
I was born in Bologna in 1971, and attended the Liceo Classico Marco Minghetti where I obtained an upper secondary school leaving certificate (grade of 60/60) in 1989. Then, I graduated in law, cum laude in 1994.
I became an untenured lecturer at the University of Bologna in 2001, where I have been a tenured professor since 2008.
I practise both in and out of court in all areas of commercial law: corporate law, competition law, company law, banking and financial market law, commercial contract law, securities law and corporate crisis law.
I am licensed to plead before the superior courts and I am frequently appointed as a member of arbitration panels, both as arbitrator and as chairman.
I have a very good knowledge of spoken and written English.
I am co-director of “Le nuove leggi civili commentate”; member of the committee of referees of “Giurisprudenza Commerciale”, “Le Corti Umbre”, “Diritto della banca e degli intermediari finanziari”, “Rivista ODC”, “Banca, Impresa e Società” and “Diritto ed Economia dell’Impresa”; member of the Academic Committee of the “Master in Diritto Penale dell’impresa e dell’economia” at the University of Bologna; lecturer at the School of Legal Studies of the University of Bologna, for the “Master in Gestione e riutilizzo dei beni sequestrati e confiscati Pio La Torre” at the University of Bologna, and for the “Master in Diritto della crisi delle imprese” at the Sapienza University of Rome.
I am also author of several national and international research works, in particular on company law, banking law and corporate crisis law.
